Our faculty started education as the School of Tourism and Hotel Management in 1993-1994 academic year. Since the 2002-2003 academic year, our faculty has continued its education and training in two departments as Accommodation Management and Travel Management. It has been continuing as the Faculty of Tourism since 16 May 2013. In 2018, it was found appropriate to close the secondary education program as a result of the effective and efficient use of public resources and the quality of education evaluation. The Travel Management department has been operating as "Travel Management and Tourism Guidance" since the 2011-2012 academic year. In 2015, the opening of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Recreation Management Departments was proposed and accepted by the University Senate. Our faculty has been continuing its education in the building where it is located in Terzioğlu Campus since 2013-2014 academic year. The Hospitality Management Department has been continuing its education as Tourism Management since the 2020-2021 academic year. In our faculty, the language of instruction is Turkish, and undergraduate education is given for 8 semesters (4 years).
In addition to intensive English education, German, Russian, Japanese, French and Italian courses are given as elective courses. Students do their 90-day compulsory internship in tourism enterprises located in the country or abroad. In addition, Sentez, Fidelio, which are used in the tourism sector in our Faculty, The use of package programs such as Amedeus and Galileo is also taught. Through the foreign relations coordinatorship of our university, a student exchange program is carried out at the national level with the Farabi program, and at the international level with the Erasmus+ and Mevlana programs. There is an Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi department representatives in our departments, a faculty member who is a unit coordinator in our faculty, and they provide counseling to students who will go to international/domestic programs and who will come to programs from abroad/domestic. In our faculty, there are Tourism courses given in English for students coming from abroad within the scope of Erasmus+ and Mevlana.
The graduates of our faculty work in front office, accounting, food and beverage, etc. departments, food and beverage businesses, entertainment industry, transportation businesses, They find employment opportunities in travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and as tourist guides. In addition, since our students take business-oriented courses in the first and second years, banking, advertising, etc. find employment opportunities in the sectors.
